A Regal Affair
It was love at first sight for Kritika and Vaibhav. With time their love for each other grew stronger. Vaibhav knew she was the one! On Kritika’s birthday party, when she was busy dancing with her friends, the music suddenly stopped with the spotlight on her and Vaibhav on one knee. He popped the question and she, of course, said yes! And since then there’s no looking back. On December, 2015 Kritika and Vaibhav exchanged their wedding vows. They had a grand wedding reception at BKC, Mumbai on 20th December. Organised and planned by “The Wedding Designers”, their wedding was truly a regal affair.
Mata ki chowki
For mata ki chowki, the theme was pastel hued. Mint and pink coloured linen and white rajnigandha floral jaali were used to give a romantic touch. Flower pasting with light and dark pink carnations were also added to enhance the ‘pastel romance’ theme.
The theme for this event was‘ Phoolonkiholi’. The mehendi event witnessed a lot of gotapatti accents, organza flower hangings, yellow and orange marigold mounds in thaals. There were also foliage swings with white orchids, hot pink and golden yellow raw silk linen.
Sangeet and Cocktail
The theme for sangeet and cocktail was ‘Bombay Velvet’. It showcased more of the vibrant, young and quirky colours and props. There were gold birdcages suspended from the ceiling decorated with ferns and fairy lights, gold chandeliers over the bar, emerald green velvet linen with gold sequin accents.
Wedding and Reception
The wedding had been fashioned keeping the minutest details in mind and personalizing the décor for the bride and groom. The theme was also personalized and made as per the bride and groom’s choice, thereby making the wedding a unique one. It was a large-scale event which focused on detailed traditional decor. With pandits hailing from the sacred city of Varanasi, personalized bells for the bride from the temple at her home. The venue ceiling was draped in deep maroon raw silk fabric and hand crafted with shlokas. This stupendous affair also witnessed a 10 ft. tall life-size elephant made from fresh flowers. The venue was covered in bling décor to give it an elegant look. There were candelabras illuminated the dining area and beautiful crystal chandeliers also added to the charm.
To keep up the festivities and celebrations, there was a mesmerising live performance of Sufi music by Misbaah Ali and band. For the sangeet and cocktail ceremony there was a Samba performance and the reception witnessed a melodious instrumental symphony by Amar Khandha & troupe. For the wedding reception, Kritika wore a gorgeous ensemble by Sabyasachi and Christian Louboutin. Vaibhav looked dapper in creation from the house of SSHomme. Kritika accessorised her look with jewellery designed by herself. Organised and planned by “The Wedding Designers” Kritika and Vaibhav’s wedding was truly a regal affair.
