The resort comprises two hotel wings: Al Bandar Hotel (The Town) Al Bandar is the resort’s focal point. It features eight out of 19 food and beverage outlets, 11 meeting rooms including the spectacular Barr Al Jissah Ballroom, which spans 1,008 square metres and provides banquet-style seating for up to 850 people. Al Bandar also provides access to the Lazy River that enables guests an unusual method to travel between Al Bandar and Al Waha by floating between the two hotels’ main swimming pools in inflatable donuts along a controlled water current and is the only Lazy River in Oman. Guests can relax and enjoy something to eat or drink at Al Waha then drift leisurely back to Al Bandar.
The leisure focused Al Waha Hotel, perfectly dubbed as “The Oasis”. All 460 rooms and suites overlook the Gulf of Oman, providing guests with 500 metres of pristine coastline. Its poolside restaurant has been designed in such a way to represent an oasis within the hotel’s several swimming pools and palm trees. The hotel is nestled at the foot of a mountain range through which vehicular access has been made possible by a man-made tunnel.
The architecture of Al Waha is traditional Dhofari, from the southern region of Oman. It comprises 262 guestrooms with a minimum room size of 32 square meters each, providing guests with either a balcony or patio that are either sea facing or have a view of the sea.
Unlike its more commercial neighbours, Oman embodies the true essence and mystique of Arabia, steeped in history and myth, from Sinbad the Sailor to the Queen of Sheba. Guests have access to 19 food and beverage outlets located in the three hotels of Al Waha, Al Bandar and adjacent sister property Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa where reservation is required, as well as Al Mazaar Souk.
